Museums of the soviet Sevastopol: transformation of the past in the name of the future

Abstract

The article covers a wide range of issues related to the creation and establishment of museums in
Sevastopol. Based on various historical sources, the changes that occurred in the work of the most
famous museums of Sevastopol in the pre-war and post-war period were analyzed. Particular attention
is paid to the management of Sevastopol museums, peculiarities of the formation of expositions and
the role played by these museums in the implementation of the policy of the memory of the Soviet
state at various stages of its history.
