Abstract

This article deals with classification and chronology of stone altars of ulubaevsko-tasmolinskoy
culture of Northern Kazakhstan. It was distinguished that there is no correlation between sizes of stone
altars and time of it manufacturing. In the paper some types of stone altars are regarded as chronological
indicators of VII—VI centuries BC. It was marked that position of stone altars in the burial place
does not correlate with its type and date of burial site. Analyzes of stone altars occurrence with another
types of inventory was shown that in most cases stone altars could be used for tattoo making.
