Abstract

Subject analysis this article is a reflection of the process of formation and development of titanium
industry in the Urals during the period from mid – 20th century to the turn of 1980—1990s in the
writings of researchers. Methods were used: the comparative-historical periodization, systematize,
classification. There are two periods in the domestic industry: periodization Soviet and post-Soviet;
their similarities and differences. The authors intention was-possible fully to investigate the purported
subject and determine on that basis, “white spots” in historiography themes, problems, and prospects
for further research. Examines some specialized foreign editions. Final conclusion: history of titanium
production, both in the scale Russia and Urals has not received full coverage either in domestic or
in foreign literature. There is a need to establish a comprehensive study of its development since so
far. Particular attention should be paid to such problems
