Abstract

The article analyzes the main factors that ensured the popularity of the operetta “Sevastopol
waltz” in the USSR. Particular attention is paid to the new way of Sevastopol, which was formed in the minds of the Soviet people in the 50-60-ies. XX century, Including through such musical works as an operetta “Sevastopol waltz”. The author offers a possible explanation of the phenomenon of long-term popularity of this operetta.
