Analysis of meaning the urbanistic metaphor

Abstract

The history of society has accumulated a variety of of metaphors. They figuratively reflect the
specificity of urban settlements and the organization of life in it. Metaphor for the city, urbanistic metaphor, is a concentrated expression of knowledge and understanding of reality or fiction-ideal. In the metaphors we find the dominance of certain aspects of life that form the general line of development of the city, or the concept creators. In the article author analyzes the metaphor in terms of the implementation of the daily practices of the population of the city, filled with symbols of urban life, the formation of urban identity of the population. Urbanistic metaphor is able to perform a constructive function in relation to social reality. The active transformation of society dictate the formation of metaphor for the city.
