Abstract

Author of the article reveals the specifics of substitutional approach when
considering the art culture of the cities. Substitutes are considered to be spontaneous,
unorganized forms of art life, which offset the lack of its institutional forms.
In Author’s opinion institutions and substitutes are forms of culture, which are
complementary to each other
