Abstract
This article elicits the personality and spiritual image of the catholic general at Russian service
P.P. Lacy, comprehends his confessional status and his religious motivation. The author neatly
considers the Lacy’s life in the context of his religion and makes more precise in biography of this famous foreigner. The article conceptual analyzes Lacy’s belonging to Catholic Church and studies the social capabilities to profession his faith in the context of Peter I’s reforms. The author concludes that inculcation of religious tolerance into Russian legislation and public consciousness of 18-th century aided modernization of Russia.
