Image of perestroika in 1990: the contradiction of perception (based on sociological research)

Abstract

In this article, we will focus on the analysis of the views of a few representative groups about
«perestroika» in 1990 and the XXVIII Congress of the CPSU: the delegates attending the Party Congress; the population of the Soviet Union, in proportion representing the main categories of workers, employees, farmers, engineers, students and pensioners. This research based on a survey conducted by the Center of Sociological Research of the Academy of Social Sciences under the CPSU Central Committee.
