Abstract

The phenomenon of the russian cultural science is the subject of the scientific debates about the nature of cultural knowledge, its status and legitimacy as an academic science. Russian cultural congresses during their work examine a system of fundamental theoretical, local, applied issues of contemporary cultural knowledge. The article presents an analytical overview of the work and results of the IV Russian Cultural Science Congress from a position of different theoretical and methodological approaches to the central category of cultural science — to the culture.
