The ornamental motif of “sophisticated curl” in works of Scytho-Siberian animal style

Abstract

The motif of “sophisticated curl” as one of ornamental elements applied in
Scytho-Siberian animal style is considered. The author gives the examples of using
an ornamental motif in different periods of the style development that verifies the
scientists’ conclusion about cultural ties of the Southern Urals with the regions of
Kazakhstan, Tuva, and Altai in VII—IV cc. BC.
