Quality management as new function and feature of modern management
Abstract
The purpose of article is to determine the significance of management quality for the theory and
practice of social management, and also to reveal an understanding of the essence of management
quality by modern managers and the practiced methods of quality improvement.
Development of science and practice of management allows to distinguish a number of characteristics
of modern management: necessity of continuous improvement of management quality of the
organization, transition from the subject-object relations in management process to the subject-subject,
project work practice development, etc. One of important differences of XXI century management
from traditional management is the contents of administrative functions extension and emergence of
new, such as marketing, innovations management, development and deployment of requirements in
the organizations to quality of products and services, and others. Thus, we see, quality management
is both new function and new feature of modern management.
Studying of quality management is important for the theory and practice of social management.
Definition and understanding the role of management quality, development of theoretical concepts of
improvement of management and their practical approbation are the tools allowing the improvement
consciously management of the organization for its successful development.
At the beginning of 2016 the author has carried out different types of polls (the semi-formalized
interview, non-synchronous online interview). The research objective was to find out understanding
of essence of management quality by modern managers and the practiced methods of quality
improvement. 20 experts (heads of departments and the companies of small and medium business of
Chelyabinsk) have been interviewed. Results of the conducted research demonstrate that development
of theoretical concepts of management quality improvement and practical recommendations on
their application would be those available tools which will allow heads of small and medium-sized
enterprises to improve management of the organization consciously.
