Abstract

The authors examine the phenomenon of spirituality in the work of contemporary South Ural
composer Anatoly Krivoshey. In this context they study poetry as a verbal source of such works as “Requiem” on poems by Anna Akhmatova and the symphony “Angel-mail” on poems by Joseph Brodsky. Both works are the spiritual vocal-instrumental music, and are treated by them as an expression of spirituality in musical creativity. Such compositions of spiritual-concert type are often implemented in the “secular” genres. The very definition of them as “the concert” focuses on presence of the secular nature along with the spiritual one in them.
