Abstract

The article proposes an approach to assessing the quality of social-and-economic development of the region on the example of the Chelyabinsk region, which is based on an analysis of the growth rates of economic indicators. The main indicators are the gross regional product, labor productivity, total labor consumption, real wages, and salary return. The ratio of growth rates of indicators characterizes the type of regional development and determines its quality. Dynamics of indicators of the Chelyabinsk region is given in comparison with similar indicators for the country as a whole. As a result, a conclusion was made on how to overcome economic stagnation, and conditions were identified that allow the implementation of strategic support for sustainable development. The use of well-verified statistical evaluations in this approach makes it possible to objectify the assessment of the quality of regional development, which facilitates the adoption of sound multi-criteria management decisions.
