Abstract

The article analyzes the main features and socio-economic consequences of the 4th industrial revolution. The fourth industrial revolution is characterized by a transition to cyber-physical systems. It creates new opportunities and new challenges for economic development. Under the influence of informatization, the structure of the world economy is changing: many traditional industries are losing their importance, new industries are rapidly developing, new relations in the production are being generated.The first part of the article explores the technological capabilities of Industry 4.0. The second part of the article analyzes the challenges and threats to the labor market. The third part of the article studies the problems of investment and financial support of the digital economy. The study confirms the fact that amid the reindustrialization on the verge of the Fourth industrial revolution, the availability of highly skilled labor and the adequacy of investment and financial resources are a necessary condition for the state’s competitiveness. The conclusions contain a set of recommendations aimed at transition of the economy to the next technological order: in the field of public administration, in the industrial sphere, in the financial sphere, in the sphere of science and education.
