Abstract

The article is devoted to analyzing topical issues of strategic cooperation between the Russian Federation and the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria in the field of energy economics. The authors analyze the main provisions of the Energy strategy of Russia for the period up to 2030 and substantiate the expedience of strengthening the dialogue on energy policy with foreign partners, in particular with the countries of Northern Africa. The article considers indicators characterizing power supply capacity of the countries exporting hydrocarbons from the North African region. Special attention is paid to analyzing key parameters of the energy sector of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, in particular the volume of oil and gas production and export in the period of 2012 - 2016 years. Negative tendencies of fluctuations in the macroeconomic environment and the degree of their influence on Algerian fuel and energy complex and the national economy as a whole are determined. The authors provide arguments in favor of strengthening bilateral relations between the Russian Federation and Algeria in the energetic sphere. The article presents important directions and forms of international cooperation of the countries in the oil and gas sector; analyzes the features and prospects of establishing joint strategic projects, programs for research, production and development of oil and gas resources.
