THE IMPACT OF ECONOMIC SANCTIONS ON THE CONFIGURATION AND OPERATION OF CORPORATIONS’ SUPPLY CHAINS

Abstract

The imposition of economic sanctions against the Russian Federation forces big business to rebuild their supply chains. On the basis of the world and Russian rating of the largest corporations the sectoral structure of corporations is shown. The notion of corporate logistics is specified. On the one hand, corporate logistics is regarded by the author as a form of functional management, on the other hand – as the area of mezologistics. The corporate logistics in the modern economy requires a combination of different functions, includingthe coordination of financial flows, management of material (commodity), service and other flows. The paper deals with the impact of economic sanctions imposed by the EU, the US and some other countries on the supply chains of the largest corporations in the oil and gas, defense and financial sectors. Particular attention is paid to oil and gas corporations which are choosing the Asian vector of supply chainsdevelopment.
