ASSESSMENT OF LOGISTICS DEVELOPMENT TRENDS AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT IN THE KNOWLEDGE ECONOMY IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

Abstract

Under present-day economic conditions, various sectors of the Russian economy, in particular, transport and logistics are in focus. In 2017–2023 in Russia, relevant areas for the development of supply chain management were identified within the framework of Industry 4.0 technology. Goal. To identify trends in the development of supply chain management and logistics using data mining methods. Research hypothesis. The main development trends in logistics and supply chain management directly depend on the application of Industry 4.0 technologies in their work, taking into account the geopolitical situation, the coronavirus pandemic and sanctions, as well as the restructuring of global supply chains. Methodology and methods. The study uses the textual analysis of news reports and intellectual deliverables in supply chain management. The dynamic modification of the Bertopic natural language processing model was used to analyze the generated data sets. The influence of new technologies and external factors on the development of supply chain management is studied in order to optimize all processes based on the introduction of modern management approaches. In the current unstable environment (the consequences of the pandemic, the aggravation of the geopolitical situation and the sanctions imposed in this regard), the existing Russian supply chain management has led to inconsistencies in the interaction between counterparties and, consequently, disruptions in the entire supply chain. Results. The paper defines the main development trends in logistics and supply chain management in Russia and identifies the factors influencing the development of supply chain management: the restructuring of supply chains during the COVID pandemic and sanctions pressure; the development of business and entrepreneurship; and the import of Chinese products to Russia. The dataset for the keywords “logistics”, “supply chain”, “logistics chain”, and “logistics system” consists of 1954 news reports from Lenta.ru RSS feed and 571 computer programs and databases from the Rospatent platform website for January 2017 – December 2023. Practical relevance. The obtained research results can be used to find effective tools aimed at achieving sustainable development in the context of digital transformation.
