The Role of Tri-n-Butylboron in the Polymerization of Vinyl Monomers in the Presence of p-Quinones
Abstract
Tri-n-butylboron coordinates growing polymethyl methacrylate and polyvinyl acetate radicals, promoting the flow of coordination-radical polymerization of methyl methacrylate and vinyl acetate, which is not typical for styrene polymerization. When p-quinone and tri-n-butilboron are present simultaneously, the controlled radical polymerization of styrene and methyl methacrylate is implemented, while in the case of vinyl acetate the inhibition of polymerization takes place.Published
