Abstract

A brief overview of the history of glassblowing in Nizhny Novgorod from the Nizhny Novgorod Radio Laboratory named after V.I. Lenin (1918) to the present day is given, as well as the history of the creation and development of the Tver freelance Research and Production laboratory of Radiolamps under the leadership of M.A. Bonch-Bruevich, V.M. Leshchinsky and V.K. Lebedinsky. The history of the creation of the Nizhny Novgorod Radio Laboratory named after V.I. Lenin, in which the development and production of high-power radio tubes up to 100 kW has been estab-lished. The formation of glassblowing at Nizhny Novgorod University under the guidance of masters A.M. Lednev, P.A. Figurovsky, S.A. Pelevin, and N.S. Kutyrin, their successors V.A. Pospelov, I.N. Meshkov, T.A. Huseynova, A.P. Ryabova, Tsvetkova, E.S. Bezman, V.N. Matveeva, G.I. Kozlova, and Yu.M. Gubanova is traced.. Development of a method for obtaining high-purity lead oxide by gas-phase oxidation of tetraethyl lead and the production of television color equipment on its basis shortly before the Moscow Olympics in 1980 is mentioned. The role of the glass-blowing workshop of the NSU Chemistry Research Institute in the formation of high-tech research and pro-duction enterprises of the chemistry of organoelement compounds “SINOR” and “DAlHIM”, in teaching students, in providing workshops, in supporting the research work of the NSU and a num-ber of educational, scientific, industrial organizations of the Nizhny Novgorod region in the field of organometallic chemistry is shown. The reviews of researchers in organoelement chemistry, such as A.D. Zorin, V.A. Dodonov, V.A. Yablokov, S.I. Selivanov, and S.V. Panteleev, concerning the work of the glass-blowing laboratory of the National Research University are presented.
