SYSTEM OF TERRITORIES WITH TRANSIT-ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT IN KRASNOYARSK

Abstract

This article is devoted to the concept of transport-oriented development (TOD): the prerequisites
of the necessity of reorientation of cities to the system of public transport and pedestrians are
considered, the relevant examples confirming the change of the priority direction of development of
cities are given, and the list of basic criteria of the concept is analyzed. As an example of the use of
TOD criteria, the assessment of the city areas around the bus stops of the city rail public transport
"City Train" of the city of Krasnoyarsk is carried out, and the project proposal for one of the considered
areas has been presented. The purpose of the study is to identify areas with the greatest potential
for further development of TOD. The project proposal shows the nature of the city area reorganization
when using the concept as a set of basic design principles. The project is applied for the territory
selected in the study as having the greatest potential — the section of the Crossover platform.
