Abstract

Today there are two ontological pictures of the world: those of subject-centrism and topocentrism. The first one is associated with anthropocentrism, i.e. a worldview declar-ing that man is the center of the universe. The second is associated with ecocentrism re-quiring consideration of human needs in the context of the natural needs on the basis of combining inert and living nature into a single system. The pandemic, as well as climatic, economic, resource-related and military crises require a transition to a new post-Darwinian theory of evolution. Therefore, topocentrism will become the leading scientific picture of the world in the future. Object-centrism is characterised by the attributive cha-racteristics (properties) of individual objects as the object of studies, whereas topocen-trism is aimed at the research of geometric properties of space and the whole. The topo-logical approach to population and economic entity distribution necessitates their single space-time continuum consideration, drawing on the properties of the natural environment in which they are placed. Taking into account historical experience, basic principles of to-pological urban planning are possible to develop.
