RECREATION AND ENTERTAINMENT PARK AS A COMPLEX RECREATIONAL AREA. PROSPECTS OF DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

This article is written within a discussion on the urban land improvement of the Recreation and En-tertainment park named after Yu.A. Gagarin in the City of Chelyabinsk. The urgency to restructure the Chelyabinsk park as well as the necessity to analyze world and domestic experience in creating and developing city parks in order to improve the social and cultural environment of the Ural region are marked. The authors present the Recreation and Entertainment park as a multifunctional recrea-tional institution on the city territories. The features of organizing such parks and the initial prere-quisites for their design are highlighted. Modern tendencies and principles of restructuring and im-proving recreation parks are analyzed by the example of Moscow parks. The creation of a theme park is offered as a possible solution of restructuring the city park. Brief historical and statistical in-formation about parks of this type, their features and advantages are given. The conclusions on the prospects for the development of multifunctional city parks in modern conditions are made.
