Abstract

Due to the fact that ceramic bricks remain the main type of wall products in a number of re-gions, including Siberia, the question regarding the quality of clay raw materials arises. Low quality of clayey rocks facilitates the need to switch to the production of semi-dry pressing products in combination with the use of additives of directional action and activation of raw materials. A new field that makes it possible to increase the strength of a ceramic shard is the nanomodification of raw materials. The analysis of the use of nanotechnologies in the production of wall ceramics is giv-en. It has been experimentally established that the addition of 0.005 wt. % nanosilica at optimal pressing pressure and firing temperature allows to increase the strength of the ceramic shard by 32.8% without changing the average density and water absorption.
